Ashrama Activities : Usual Worship and Spiritual Discourses

Daily service and worship of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna was conducted in the temple.Ramanam Sankirtan was conducted on every Ekadashi day, birthday of Swami Brahmananda and Ramanavami. Tithi puja (Birthday) of Sri Ramakrishna Dev, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda were celebrated with special puja, discourses by distinguished speakers, devotional music performances, and Prasad distribution to the large number of assembled devotees. Sri Ramakrishna birthday was also celebrated in the adopted villages of this Ashrama. Discourses in connection with birthdays of other Saints, religious leaders and celebrations like Saraswati Puja, Vishwarkarma Puja, Karma Festival and Christmas Eve were observed. Special puja on Maha Durgastami day was also performed and prasad was distributed. Regular discourses on Sri Ramakrishna Kathamrita and Srimad Bhagavad Gita in the evening of every Saturday and Sunday repectively were conducted in the Ashrama. Discourses were held regularly in other locations of the city. Rev. Secretary Maharaj and other monastic members on invitation attended the functions organized outside the Ashrama. A total no. of 137 discourses, meeting, Classes and lectures (all discourses held hybrid mode) were held .

National Youth Day Celebration: Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi, Ranchi organised a whole-day celebration of National Youth Day on 12 Jan 2024 – the Birthday of Swami Vivekananda. The celebration was started by garlanding the statue of Swami Vivekananda in University campus followed by the chanting and flower offering by monks of Ashrama and other staff members of the University. A rally was also conducted after the garlanding.
A special awareness-cum-cultural programme was organised at Swami Vivekananda Sarovar under 33 feet bronze statue of Swami Vivekananda from 10 am to 1:00pm where Garlanding of Swami Vivekananda Statue was done by Swami Bhaveshananda, Secretary of this Ashrama, Swami Antarananda, Asst. secretary of this Ashrama, Mr. Amit Kumar, IAS, CEO, Ranchi Municipal Corporation, and other dignitaries. The programme was started with offering flower to the statue of Swami Vivekananda and then followed by speeches of the eminent guests. The programme consisted of Swadesh Mantra, speech, and song etc. all dedicated to the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. At the end of the programme food packets and a set of books related to life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda were distributed to all the participants.
Different programmes were organized at different Akhandananda Shiksha & Sanskar Kendras by teachers, students and local people at different villages of Ranchi, Khunti and Ramgarh districts of Jharkhand. In the evening, prize distribution ceremony for State Winners of Annual Competition 2023 was organized in Ashrama auditorium, where Sri C.P. Radhakrishnan Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand attended as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries, School Children, Teachers & general public attended the programme. The programme was also made live through YouTube to all participants of Annual Competition. About 3360 participants attended in different programmes organised at different places physically. Good press coverage was observed on the next day in almost all local newspapers of Jharkhand. In addition to these, two additional events were organised for the students and faculty members of RKMVERI and trainees and staff members of Divyayan from 10 to 12:00 noon where about 500 participants were present.

International Yoga Day: International Yoga Day was celebrated under the theme “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” on 21st June, 2023 in collaboration with Indian Yoga Association (IYA)Jharkhand Chapter and Patanjali Yoga Peeth. The motto of the programme was “Har Ghar Yoga to develop Jharkhand into Yogic, Jaivic and Naitik tribal state of India”.
In morning session, yoga practice was held at 53 places concurrently in which about 2500 participants participated in the Common Protocol Yoga session from 6:30 to 7:30am. Children from different Akhandananda Shiksha and Sanskar Kendra (ASSK) being run at different villages actively participated in this programme.
In evening session, the awareness programme was inaugurated by lighting of lamp and vedic chanting by the monks of the Ashrama. The chief guest of the occasion was Sri Arun Kumar Singh, IAS Additional chief secretary-cum-development commissioner, Department of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare, Govt of Jharkhand, Ranchi and Sri Rahul Sharma IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Govt of India and Sri B.K. Sinha, IPS, Retired Inspector General of Police were the guests of honour of the occasion. All the speakers discussed about the role of Yoga to develop harmony at personal, social, and national level for the holistic development of nation. During this programme prize winners of Village Level Yoga Competition – 2023 and state level online quiz competition were given away prizes. Around 300 participants participated in this session of the programme. The first, second and third rank holders were given Rs 5000/-, Rs 3000/- and Rs 2000/- respectively in two groups.

Mass Suryanamaskar Demonstration: Mass Suryanamaskar Demonstration programme was conducted at Surya Mandir, Bundu, Ranchi, Jharkhand one of the iconic scenic tourist places of Ranchi Conducted on 10 January 2024, Wednesday. The objective of the programme was to create awareness on the benefits of the Suryanamaskar and to popularize among the masses. The programme starts with lighting the lamp and vedic chanting in presence of distinguished guests like Swami Divyadev ji, Acharyakulam, Patanjal Yoga Pitham, Ranchi; Swami Antrananda ji, Asst. Secretary of this Ashrama; Sri Vinod Kumar Gaddhyan, President of Ashrama Managing Committee; Sri Bablu Kumar, National Wresting Coach and others. Ms. Prangya Bharti led the Surya Namaskar for the participant The programme was attended by around 750 participants and were given refreshment after the programme. The programme was conducted under the sponsorship of Ministry of AYUSH, Govt of India and in collaboration with Bharat Swabhiman (Patanjali Yoga Pith) and Sanskriti Vihar, Ranchi. The whole programme was made live through YouTube Live.

Akhanda Ramcharit Manas Path: A Special Ramacharit Manas Path was organised on the occasion of Ramanavami from 8th April to 9th April 2023 The path was started and concluded with special puja. Devotees and Volunteers actively participated in the programme. Children of GAP also actively participated in the said Ramacharit Manas Path.

Ramacharit Manas Path: A 5-day Ramacharit manas Path was orgnaised from 10th to 14th September 2023 by Swami Ram Premanand ji Maharaj from Vrindavan. He conducted the very soothing Ramacharitmanas path in very simple language. Around 500 devotees participated the programme Bhakta Sammelan: A Special Bhakta Sammelan was organised on the occasion of Gurupurnima on 07th July 2023. The Chief Guest of the Sammelan was Sw. Paripurnananda, Acharya, Chinmay Mission, Ranchi . Around 200 devotees participated
the Sammelan. A special puja, Guru Vandana, Guided Meditation and speech by eminent persons
was conducted during the sammelan. The programme was also made live through YouTube. Another two Bhakta Sammelan were organised on 26 Nov. 2023 and 17 March 2024. Average participation of devotees in all 3(Three) bhakta sammelan was around 240. Sarva Dharma Sammelan : To commemorate 130th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s speech at world parliament of religion, a Sarva Dharma Sammelan was organized at the Ashrama Auditorium on 11 September 2023. The theme of the sammelan was “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam-The world is one family – Yehi Manushya Ka Dharm Hai”.Eminent speakers like Swami Ram Premanand ji Maharaj from Vrindavan; Dr. Shyamal Gomes Professor at Xavier Institute of Social Service,Ranchi; Prof, Harvinder Bir Singh were invited and they spoke on the theme of Sammelan. Around 300 participants including the students of RKMVERI, Divyayan and others attended the programme.

Puja and Celebrations

Vishwakarma Puja : Vishwakarma puja was celebrated in Workshop unit of Divyayan on 17 September 2024. The puja was performed with all due rituals and hymns. It was attended by the monks of the Ashrama, staff members, scientists and trainees of Divyayan. At the end of the puja all staff members and trainees partook prasad.

National Festivals : National festivals like Independence Day and Republic Day was celebrated in the Divyayan Campus on 15th of August and 26th of January respectively.

Karma Puja : Karma puja one of the festivals of tribals of Jharkhand was celebrated with due solemnity on 14th September 2024. The festival was observed in Divyayan premises after sandhya aarati with a special puja by offering grains, fruits, and agricultural produce to the Karam tree. The festival came alive with traditional music and rhythmic dances by Divyayan Trainees and RKMVERI students. It was attended by Monks, staff members, family of staff members, trainees and student. At the end of the programme, prasad was distributed among all participants.

Govardhan Puja : Govardhan puja was celebrated the day after Diwali at Divyayan Dairy. A Special puja of Lord Krishna was organised. Cows of the dairy were fed with laddu at the end of the puja. Dairy staff members and others attended the puja and all partook prasad at the end of the puja.

Annual Celebrations 
In commemoration of 125th Foundation Anniversary of Ramakrishna Mission, a 3-day long Annual Celebration was celebrated from 13th May to 15th May 2023. During these 3 days a series of programmes consisting of Public meetings, Folk Song and Dance, voice and musical play on life of Sri Sri Sarada Maa and Skit etc were organized with great grace and grandeur. The celebration was inaugurated by Swami
Nityajnananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Bhopal, MP in the gracious presence of Swami Satsangananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, T.B. Sanatorium, Tupudana, Ranchi; Dr. OM Prakash Verma, Secretary, Vivekananda Vidya Mandir, Ex- Vivekananda Chair-Professor of Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur;. The first day of the celebration was named as Sri Ramakrishna Day in which a public meeting was organized on the topic “Contribution of Ramakrishna Mission in Spiritual awakening of India”. The meeting was presided by Swami Nityajnananda ji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna M i s s i o n D r . O M P r a k a s h V e r m a , S w a m i Vivekananda Chair-Professor of Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur; spoke ornately on the topic. The second day was observed as Sri Maa Sarada Devi in which a public meeting was organized on the topics Contribution of “Ramakrishna Mission in Women Empowerment”. The meeting was presided by Swami Nityajnananda ji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission. Special Guest speakers were Justice Anubha Rawat Choudhury, Jharkhand High Court; Dr. OM Prakash Verma, Swami Vivekananda Chair-Professor of Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur; They spoke diligently on the topic. The meeting was attended by around 200 participants including the Students of RKMVERI, DIVYAYAN Trainees, Devotees, Volunteers and admirers of the Ashrama. The third day was observed as Swami Vivekananda Day. The theme of the day was “Importance of Swami Vivekananda’s though in empowerment of youths”. In the morning session Sri Goplajee Tiwari,
Under Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative, Govt. of Jharkhand
was the chief guest. Dr. O. P. Verma was the special speaker. During the programme students of RKMVERI also spoke on the topic and presented a beautiful skit on a social bad practices like drug addict and dowry etc. In the afternoon session, a special programme on youth awareness and development was conducted which was presided by Swami Nityajnananda ji Maharaj and the guest speakers were Prof. Brijeash Kumar, State coordinator, NSS, Jharkhand, Mr. S. N. Jha and Dr. O. P. Verma. This session was participated by NSS Students of Gossner College, Ranchi Women’s College, Marwari College, Doranda College, and St. Xavier’s College. Around 400 students participated the programme. On 13th May, 2023, a melodious Bhajan Sandhaya was performed by Sri Sagar Sanya and Sri Shaymal Roy and Party, Ranchi. On 14th May, 2023, a devotional Musical Play(Biswajanani Maa Sarada) was presented by Staff members, students, trainees and devotees on ‘The Life and Teachings of Sri Sri Sarada Maa.’ On 15th May, 2023, a mesmerizing Folk Song and Dance (Nagpuri) was performed by the famous Nagpuri Kala and Sanskriti Kendra, Jharkhand.
