Divyayan KVK celebrated Rastriya Mahila Kisan Diwas with an objective to create awareness and to encourage the women farmers to take up different income generation activities in agriculture and allied sector and to recognize their invaluable contribution in Indian agriculture and economy.
The programme was organized in collaboration with IFFCO with the theme “Role of Women farmers in enhancing Family Income through Agriculture and Allied Activities”.
Smt. Subhra Verma, Special Secretary, Agriculture Animal Husbandry and Co-operative, Govt. of Jharkhand was the Chief Guest of the occasion and other dignitaries like Mrs. Renu Gopinath, CEO, Jharkraft and Small Industries Board, Mrs Anamika, AGM, NABARD, Sri Rajeev Kumar, Director Agriculture and Sri Vikas Kumar, Additional Director, Planning (Agriculture Department, Govt. of Jharkhand) graced the occasion as special guests. Swami Bhaveshananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi presided over the programme.
Two Technical Sessions were organized besides the Inaugural Session. During these sessions, Farm women were provided with information regarding bank linkage, rural crafts and enterprise development in agriculture.
They were also sensitized and made aware to avail benefits of Government programmes and schemes. Their queries regarding self help group policies were addressed in question answer session. A special class was held on soil health management.
Around 300 farmwomen participated in the programme. Identified women leaders were honoured during the programme. An essay writing competition was organized on the topic – “Role of Women in Agriculture” and two women farmers were awarded as best essay writers.
Sri R. K. Singh State Marketing Manager, IFFCO presented Welcome speech and Dr. Anjali Chandra conducted the programme. Dr. A. K. Singh, Senior Scientist of Divyayan KVK along with other scientists delivered lecture in the programme.
